Cat Scratch Reader Interviews Former Hokie James Anderson

SB Nation's Carolina Panthers blog, Cat Scratch Reader, recently had the chance to interview linebacker James Anderson, who played for the Hokies from 2002-2005. Anderson is getting the chance to start of the Panthers due to injuries. Anderson was a senior on the 2005 Tech team, which had one of the best Hokie defenses I've seen.

The interview touches on Anderson's current season, his game preparation and his life off the field.

Here's a excerpt from the post:

Unlike last year, though, Anderson figures to get plenty of game action to affect his next contract. "It's a big rest of the season," he says. "I get a great opportunity. This is the NFL. They don't come around often."

2005 Defense=Best college D I've ever seen!

Try the “BEST” defense in Virginia Tech history bar none. This is the most dominant defensive team that I have ever seen in college football. I know that’s a bold assertion to make, but their numbers stack up well, and aside from that, give them the eye test and see if they don’t pass it against almost any other team in college football history. They hit filthy hard, their pursuit was uncanny, and their speed may never be matched by a Virginia Tech defense again. On an unrelated note, this was also the most talent-laden team Tech ever fielded. If Stiney had called any kind of game against Miami and the team didn’t come out of the gates like a hungover chick against the Seminoles, we would have been undefeated…still probably not playing in the classic Texas-USC national championship game, but man would I have felt better about that year. Big disappointment based on the product we put on the field every game but two.
