Hokies 16/1 to Win the National Championship

Bodog has its futures up for college football's national title and has the Hokies pegged at 16/1 to win it all. Once again, Tech has the best odds to raise the crystal in the ACC according to Bodog. Last year we were 20/1.

Here's odds on ACC teams to win the national championship:

Boston College: 100/1
Clemson: 40/1
Duke (Field): 60/1
Florida State: 20/1
Georgia Tech: 50/1
Maryland: 200/1
Miami: 22/1
North Carolina: 30/1
NC State: 100/1
Virginia: 100/1
Virginia Tech: 16/1
Wake Forest: 80/1

Vegas really likes the Hokies, Noles and Canes and hates the Terps and Pack. I'll probably put a few bills on the Yellow Jackets. With that much talent and Goergia and Virginia Tech at home, 50/1 looks really enticing.

These numbers also show that Vegas is looking more favorably on the ACC. Last year, four teams (VT, Clemson, FSU, Miami) were under 100/1. This year there are six.

Real value in GT

VT is horrible value, ditto UNC

I think Clemson drifts higher a bit and they are a potential play at 60/1

SEC Odds

Alabama – 20/1
Arkansas – 90/1
Auburn – 125 / 1
Florida – 2/1
Georgia – 50/1
Kentucky – 125/1
LSU – 20/1
South Carolina – 85/1
Tennessee – 70/1

I didn’t see any for Vandy and Miss State who are definite non-contenders but I’m guessing Ole Miss is 60/1.

Even if a team from the ACC somehow makes it to the title game they will have to go against Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, etc. and will not have a very good chance of winning.
