"Changing of the guards at Virginia Tech. Frank Beamer retires, Bud Foster takes over, and AD Jim Weaver steps down. The first is inevitable. The second isn’t a guarantee. And the third could be prompted by health concerns. Foster’s latest agreement will do a good job of keeping him in Blacksburg, though, and it would be a public relations nightmare if Virginia Tech picked anyone else to succeed Beamer."

Annette has 10 predictions for the ACC in the upcoming decade posted, including this one about the Hokies. Can't say I was aware of any health issues facing Weaver. While I haven't agreed with many of the decisions he's made, he keeps Virginia Tech in the black and is responsible for a lot of the capital improvements at Tech over the last decade. His retirement would hurt the athletics department just as much if not more than Beamer's.

Weaver has health issues

Weaver suffers from Parkinson’s disease.

From my early days listening to Bill Roth depict a dazzling Michael Vick dance around the field to glory until now, it has been more than a pleasure to be a Hokie fan. Since 1998, there has only been one game played in Lane Stadium I did not attend (stupid chicken pox), and I dread the day where I am not fortunate enough to be in the stands week after week.

It's a great day to be a Hokie!
