Football Isn't the Only Commonwealth Cup Battle This Weekend. Go See the Hokies Volleyball Team Friday Night.

If you're staying anywhere near Blacksburg Friday night for the UVa football game on Saturday, there's another Commonwealth Cup battle you need the check out.

The Virginia Tech volleyball team hosts the Wahoos at 7 p.m. EST Friday in Cassell Coliseum. It's senior night for two Hokies, including Felicia Willoughby. Willoughby, a middle blocker from California, is the Hokies' career leader in blocks.

Trible and I went to their match against BC the day after the Georgia Tech football game and the team is pretty good. They were fighting for a berth in the NCAA Tournament before three consecutive losses on a recent road trip diminished their postseason hopes.

Still, the team is 18-11 and a win against UVa would make them 10-10 in ACC play and give them their first sweep of the Hoos since 2002. They deserve your support, so get to Cassell Friday night if you're near Blacksburg. You hear me, all you RV folks?
