Virginia Tech vs. Miami: 2010 ACC Tournament Quarterfinal Game Thread

Miami Hurricanes at Virginia Tech Hokies, Mar 12, 2010 2:27 PM EST

Virginia Tech Hokies (23-7, 10-6) vs. Miami Hurricanes (19-12, 4-12)

Time: Approximately 2 p.m. EST
Date: Friday, March 12, 2010
Place: Greensboro Coliseum (23,500), Greensboro, NC
TV: Raycom Sports/ESPN2
Radio: XM 190
Online: Raycom/ESPN360.com
Spread: Virginia Tech -3.5

The Hokies will open the ACC tournament against Miami for the third consecutive year. You're never safe until your name appears during the Selection Sunday show and the Hokies can't afford to put any doubt into the minds of committee members. This may not be an absolute must-win for Tech, but a win would probably solidify its place in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007.

TV Coverage: If you live in the ACC geographic footprint, you will have to watch the game on your local Raycom affiliate or on Raycom.Swarmcast.com. The game will be blacked out on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com. If you live outside of the ACC, you can watch on ESPN2 or ESPN360.com.

Game Thread! Use the comments section of this post to discuss the game. I'll be watching from work, so I'll be around. I'll be on Twitter during the game as well.

Hokies on fire

turnabout’s fair play as it was Miami shooting lights-out Thursday against Wake.

We're really pushing the pace

flying around on defense and smothering the ball handler.

Not to be outdone

JT Thompson is having a great game as well. Jumpers are falling.

I like that

the Hokies are trying to break off misses to beat Miami’s zone down to the other end.

I hope Miller plays

in Detroit. I think he’ll get a good ovation. Or he should at least.

Miami can't miss

and when they do, they get the OReb. They’re still feeling it from yesterday.

Only 5 players

have scored for us so far. 6 for Miami, but we know they’re not very deep.

Nice cut to the basket

by Delaney and nice job by Allen to find him. Delaney is warming up.

Really fast paced game

Greenberg probably doesn’t like that. Haven’t seen this from the Hokies since the Seton Hall game.

Miami's shooting has cooled

but its rebounding has not. Getting worked on the boards. Again.

Neither team

wants to win now. Both playing like shit down the stretch.

Yeah guys

let’s give the committee a reason to not put us in the tournament.
