Should We Bring Back The Deathbacker?
Cody Grimm is gone to the NFL, drafted in the seventh round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Grimm is one of the better whip linebackers we've seen come through Blacksburg and filling his shoes will be a tall order for Jeron Gouveia-Winslow or Alonzo Tweedy.
But Grimm's departure puts an even more important issue into doubt. That's right, the Deathbacker. Remember, when the Deathbacker thing started (stolen from here), it referred to Grimm's position, not the man himself. But Grimm had such an outstanding senior year that I was thinking maybe we should retire the nickname.
I'll leave it up to you readers. Is Cody Grimm the Deathbacker or did he play Deathbacker? Should we retire the nickname or let it live on for the next generation of whips who come through Bud Foster's defense?

Definitely Not
Grimm will always be remembered as the first, but I feel as long as the player lives up to the standards he’s set, the name should live on.
