Report: Virginia Tech to Face Purdue in ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Jeff Goodman from Fox Sports says we'll host the Boilermakers (HT: Testudo Times):
The ACC-Big Ten Challenge matchups will be released later this week, but as usual, we'll give you the scoop as to the key matchups.
[...]
Purdue, a lock Top 5 team, will head to Blacksburg and play Virginia Tech - a Top 25 club.
This game will certainly give Tech's usually poor non-conference schedule a shot in the arm. The Boilers also received good news this weekend when two players who had previously declared for the NBA Draft, E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson, decided to return to school. The news has Purdue fans excited about the upcoming season, just like Malcolm Delaney's decision to return has Hokie fans optimistic.
Purdue looked to be a favorite to make the Final Four last year before Robbie Hummel went down with a knee injury. Purdue earned a 4-seed in the tournament and lost to Duke in the Sweet 16. Hummel should be back from his injury by the team the Hokies and Boilers would hypothetically meet.
We'll officially know our ACC/Big Ten Challenge opponent later this week, as Goodman said.

Boiler fan here....
Don’t know much about your style of play. What will the Hokies strengths and weaknesses be next year? What style do you like to play on offense and defense?
Vt style
VT plays a somewhat to very ugly style of ball. We like to slow the game down, play physical defense, get in the lanes and cause turnovers, run only when its obvious. Our stregnth is guard play, our weakness is big men. We have virtually our whole team returning from last year. The team certainly surpassed expectations last season, although admittedly expectations were very low. We shall see how the team responds when the expectations are higher, which they certainly will be next season.
