Star-divide

Starters: Wright is 4-3, 3.69 in 10 ACC starts while McGuire is 5-3, 3.31 in 10 ACC starts ... Wright and McGuire squared off in the opener of the teams' regular season series on April 23 in Atlanta in what was a classic pitchers' duel ... the game was tied 0-0 after five innings and 1-1 after six ... Wright went 8.0 IP and gave up one earned run on three hits with three walks and eight strikeouts ... McGuire pitched 7.0 IP and allowed one earned run on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts ... both gave up their run on a solo homer in the sixth ... the Hokies won 3-1 thanks to two runs in the 11th inning.

Trends: The Hokies' trip to the home of the South Atlantic League's Greensboro Grasshoppers marks their first appearance in the ACC tournament for the first time since 2005 when all 11 teams were invited to the postseason tournament ... that year, the Yellow Jackets won the last of their seven ACC tournament titles ... since the tournament went to pool play in 2007, the Jackets are 3-6 (1-2 all three years) ... the Hokies had won six of seven ACC series before being swept last week at North Carolina ... they have lost four consecutive games ... Georgia Tech has won its last two ACC series after losing three of its previous four ... the Yellow Jackets lost their last game at Boston College after winning nine of their previous 10 games.
