Just a little fun about Sept 6, VT, Boise, and the number 6

What does the number six have to do with Boise State and Virginia Tech?  Maybe nothing; maybe a lot if you are superstitious.  So here is some random number 6's of note that have to do with VT or Boise just for fun.  Also a little this day in history for the 6th.

• Last time the Hokies had 6 or more losses was 1992 (We lost to ECU, WVU, Louisville, Miami, Rutgers, Syracuse, Southern Miss, and UVAG that year) The last time Boise did this was 1997.
• Boise has won division 1-A 6 Bowl games (they have lost 4) they joined division 1-A in 1996
• Boise State has not lost 6 games since Petersen has taken over as head coach (they have lost 4). VT lost 6 or more games 4 times in the first 6 years Beamer was at VT
• VT has won 10 games or more for the last 6 seasons (Boise has done it the last three
• Frank started playing football in 1966. Petersen's last year at UC Davis was 1986

No one wears #6 at VT currently
• Frank has won 6 conference titles (3 big east 3 ACC). He has won 12 coach of the year awards, and has held 6 coaching positions (MA-GA, Citadel-DC, Citadel-DL, Murray State-DC, Murray State-HC, VT-HC)
• Petersen won the Paul Bear Bryant Coach of the Year award first time in 2006
• Petersen makes 1.6 million annually.
• Frank was born in 1946
• Boise state averages 6.5 yards offensively per play, VT Averages 6.2
• Brand Thompson has 6 interceptions last year, he led Boise State. Rashad Carmichael had 6 interceptions last year, he led VT. Boise had 4 pick 6's last year; VT had 1.
