Virginia Tech Hockey Drops Puck on New Season
[Ed. Note: Bumped from FanPosts. You can also catch Casey in his natural habitat at Winging it in Motown.]
Hey everyone, just wanted to offer up a bit of news on behalf of the Virginia Tech hockey team. The Hokies start the new season tomorrow night against the Virginia Cavaliers. Hokie fans have shown up in large numbers for this game in recent years and hopefully the attendance will be even higher this year as Tech faces off against its rivals.
The game begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Roanoke Civic Center. General admission is $5 but entry is free to students with a Hokie Passport or kids 12 and under. Saturday, the Hokies play host to Binghamton University (NY), also at 7:30.
Another exciting aspect for this season is how the team plans on getting fans involved. They will be streaming a broadcast of this season's games live to those unable to attend. The link for the broadcasts can be found here and highlight packages will be posted to that site as well. The team will also run a Twitter page (@VTIceHockey) with updates from the games as well as a facebook page.
Please come support the Hokies in their first home game of the season!

Thanks for the heads up!
I haven’t seen a thing about Hokie hockey on campus, and I am a big fan of the sport. Probably won’t be able to make it to many games, so being able to watch online will be great!
