"LB Stephone Anthony will make his decision on NSD - 1130 at the high school. Looks like it will be on ESPNU as well. VT, CLEM, UF and UNC"
SB Nation also has a recruiting update on Anthony, saying the five-star LB visited North Carolina this past weekend and has a strong relationship with Florida's linebackers coach.

please God
We need this kid. I am honestly ashamed at how bad Mike London whooped us on the recruiting trail this year. We have been playing with undersized linebackers with limited athleticism for too long. The tight ends wrecked us in the Stanford game because we don’t have the quality of player to handle those guys. We won’t ever win a National Championship as long as we keep up this mentality of finding “diamonds in the rough”. If Greenberg can get elite talent, why can’t one of the most consistent football programs in sports?

i wrote about this
last year around signing day. diamonds in the rough worked when we werent very good and had not chance at most of the top talent in the state. now we continue to follow the same model despite trying to compete with schools that follow a model that gets elite talent. say what you want about star ratings and recruiting services, but a lot of times the teams that get the best rated talent wind up with the best rated players. there are plenty of five-stars that fizzle, but i think a lot fewer five-stars play like three-stars than there are three-stars that play like five-stars.

Isn't it to our advantage
that Clemson is one of the finalists for Tony Steward? And that they’ve already received verbals from 3 linebackers? While VT has no linebackers (as determined by Rivals) in the 2011 class?
Colton Walls is not a LB
he’s a FB.
And the depth chart at Weakside and strongside is only 1-deep really.
florida is eliminated
word is state was pushing for vt as his choice while unc is pushing for clemson. of course they don’t do it outright, but it’s the game within the game, something our coaches don’t do well or both … see marquise williams.
i expect clemson, even though historically underachieving with talent is an understatement.
Id much rather him go to Clemson than UNC
They have way too much talent at LB already. Clemson can’t ever figure out how to put a winner on the field with superior talent to the vast majority of the ACC. I will say that I prefer a coaching staff that actually coaches and develops kids exceptionally well to one that is a great recruiting staff (cough, Butch, cough). But I feel like we should just get rid of the empty spot in the trophy case for the National Championship already. As long as we say we have no shot at elite talent and don’t try to recruit them, I just don’t see us winning it all. We could absolutely go undefeated in the regular season and make a National Championship again, but how can we possibly beat teams like Alabama, Ohio St and Texas if we can’t even match the incoming talent at UVA? We will continuing losing to top 5 teams until we assess this problem.

This is what VT fans are reduced to
Rooting that the top talent goes to the most underachieving ACC teams… Let’s hope Curtis Grant goes to UVA then, so he’ll be a star in the midst of mediocrity…
This is sad.
