Preliminary Week 13 BlogPoll Ballot

Chaos.

Final ballot is due Tuesday. Full preliminary ballot is after the jump. You will hate it.

Star-divide

Notes

- LSU, Alabama, Arkansas. No. 1-3 just about everywhere. No. 1-3 here.

- No. 4-6 benefit more from others' misfortune more than what they did last week. Oklahoma State has beaten better teams than Stanford and Virginia Tech have. Is their loss worse than the other two? Absolutely. But their wins and overall schedule are higher quality.

- Stanford over Virginia Tech for No. 5. Again, they're wins are better and in this case their loss is, too. Stanford's win over USC is much better than any the Hokies have.

- Please leave your suggestions for edits and reasoning in the comments.

You could

completely randomize #4-11, and make a good argument of any of the order. Likewise, you could completely randomize 12-19.
The only arguments I can make is for Kansas State to move up higher in the 12-19 group, which has the best 2 loses of any 2 loss team. Oklahoma probably should be lower in the 4-11 group, as they have 1 really bad loss and 1 mediocre loss.

I like this better than the current BCS standings

The BCS standings for this week seemed very strange. Okalhoma St. loses to a not good Iowa State and only drops 2, while Clemson dropped like 9(?) spots to 17th. UVA wasn’t even ranked in the BCS, but a 4 loss Texas team was? Very strange results. Also agree that Houston should be above Boise St., but of course Boise is above them in the BCS for some reason.

Living here in Scottsdale, I can not understand how in the world this Arizona St. team was able to put it to USC. USC is a very solid team

Arkansas Does NOT desreve #3 Ranking

I know this won’t matter if LSU beats Arkansas but this is why Arkansas doesn’t deserve a #3 Ranking in comparison with VT (and I’m not saying VT should be #3 either):

VT OOC Schedule Teams Record: 27-17
Arkansas OOC Schedule Teams Record: 12-31

Teams played/will play in Conference Overall Record VT: 49-39
Teams played/will play in Conference Overall Record Arkansas: 54-34

So, 5 more conference wins for the SEC make a HUGE difference in the BCS rankings. MAKES NO SENSE.
