Anthony to Clemson
Well its official. Stephone Anthony, the last bastion of hope for this recruiting class, has chosen to take his talents to Clemson. I can't describe the level of disappointment I feel with the job our staff did this year. We have recruited the worst class I've seen in recent memory riding another ACC Championship and 11 wins. What has happened here is nothing short of disaster. Its time for Frank to take a long hard look at the way we recruit, both in and out of state. How is it possible that we had this poor a showing? Anthony could have at least made this year bad instead of atrocious, but instead he is going to enter a crowded LB corps at Clemson, a school that perennially underachieves. How do we consistently win and not attract talent? What the hell is going on here? Honestly this one hurts. We will never win a National Championship OR beat elite teams in general with 3 star talent. End of story. Is anyone else out there feeling like they're watching the end of our ACC dominance today?

Frank said he's not changing
His philosophy on recruiting, at least in the Kyle Tucker interview. Is Beamer out of touch? Overconfident with his ability to do more with less? If he doesn’t take notice of what UNC and UVA are doing, he will be out of touch…
In the end, VT will be fine in the ACC, but probably not in the national picture. FSU and UNC will likely become legitimate threats, but VT will still be able to compete and win in the lackluster ACC.

Its..
I read some article (a link was probably posted on Gobbler Country) showing that Tech was tops in the country (I think… maybe second) in difference between recruiting class ranking and end-of-year nat’ ranking. I think something like a 15 or 18 spot difference between where we recruit and where we end up.
I think that’s what makes the whole thing so painful. Turning signing classes ranked in the high 20’s low 30’s into Top 10 or 15 teams year-in and year-out. Frustrating to think of what a recruiting class ranked in the top 15 could become on the field giving the track record of turning top 30 talent into top 15 results.
