Winning doesn't matter Snake Oil gets you top ten recruiting class
After yesterday something occured to me prior year winning no longer matters in getting top recruits. The Rivals top 10 has 3 teams that finished below .500 in 2010 UGA, Clemson and Texas. Two others USC and ND barely had seasons to brag about . I know tradition matters and recently 4 of these programs are winners and likely will win big again. So what are these schools who are losing and getting top prospects doing that VT is not doing? what Snake Oil are they selling 17 and 18 year old kids? what are HokieNations thoughts?

I don't think it's really that complex of an issue.
UGA is a major SEC program, surrounded by a lot of good talent. That appeals to many kids in the region.
Texas speaks for itself. There’s a reason they typically wrap up their classes before the season even starts.
Clemson has some excellent recruiters in Kevin Steele and Jeff Scott, Dabo might not know exactly what to do with talent, but he knows how to close on recruiting kids, and Clemson is also in a pretty talent rich area.
Lots of 'Tang at two of those schools...
A couple of these kids went to visits at UGA and UT and got laid by some older college girls…welcome wagon sloots…and probably to date it was some of the finest they’d experienced…
They call it the Willie Williams experience…
