An Important Announcement Regarding the Future of Gobbler Country
Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce I am leaving Gobbler Country after over three wonderful years. When the blog first started, it was selfish reasons. It was for personal catharsis and as an outlet for my writing. As time went on, my motivations to write the blog changed. I kept at it because of the wonderful people who read and commented on the blog and communicated with me on Twitter.
I wouldn't trade the last three years for anything, but it's time for me to move on to my next project, which I'm extremely excited about.
Most of you probably already know Joe from The Key Play. When I started this blog, Joe and I became quick friends because of our shared interests. Those of us who know us best know that one of those shared interests is Virginia Tech women's soccer recruiting.
It is because of this that we've decided to join forces to create a new blog, The Key Gobbler, that will be dedicated to covering the recruiting efforts of the Hokies' women's soccer program. 24-7, 365. The Key Gobbler will be your ultimate destination for news regarding the future of the program and who you'll be seeing on Thompson Field in orange and maroon.
Joe and I both feel there is a need for VT women's soccer recruiting news and The Key Gobbler will fill a void that other news outlets are ignoring. We hope you'll continue to support us in our new endeavor just like you supported Gobbler Country and The Key Play.
I can't thank you all enough for your patronage of Gobbler Country the last three years. I look forward to seeing you at The Key Gobbler.
Thank you,
furrer4heisman

3 more years! 3 more years! 3 more years!
Ah screw it, lets just move on to women’s soccer but please include coverage of the JV team to.
Well done.
'11: Minimum Goal: 9-3 Regular Season. Given FSU's non-con slate, don't care who the 9 are.
'10: 7th in offense, 41st in defense. Division Champions. 10-4. (6-3)
'09: 8th in offense, 88th in defense. 7-6 (4-4)

Well played
Strangely enough though I believed the womens soccer bit. After the ScalpEm’ guy came out saying he was going to reduce his posting, and him being a big time FSU softball fan, I was like wow, people really do care about these smaller sports. But alas, well played

Ha
I kind of feel like a jerk when mid-way thru the story I found myself saying, “huh?.. who the F cares about women’s soccer?”
Good stuff..

Thanks
for reminding me what to expect at work today!
Waiting for my actual alma mater to start a football team since 1998
What's April Fool's Day?
Is that kind of like Good Friday or something? Do I need to go to church today?

good stuff, good stuff
had me going there for a second. Women’s soccer recruiting… lol.
Nice one...
I have to admit, I was fooled for about 25 seconds. I know that you are very passionate about VT women’s soccer recruiting, but that bit about Joe from The Key Play…
We all know you guys hate each other. C’mon…
