Report: Brad Greenberg Resigns as Radford Basketball Coach
From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
RADFORD, VA -- Radford University men's basketball coach Brad Greenberg has resigned according to RU officials in a posting on the school's official university athletics sight (sic). The move comes following RU suspending Greenberg for four games this past season, for violating NCAA rules.
Brad Greenberg was an assistant under his brother, Seth, at Virginia Tech from 2003-2007 and was a key factor in the Hokies' resurgence that culminated in a trip to the 2007 NCAA Tournament. He took the Radford job after the 2006-07 season and led the Highlanders to the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
Is it too late to get Brad back on the Virginia Tech staff? Possibly. The Hokies have an opening on the staff, but according to several reports it is likely to be filled by former Maryland assistant Robert Ehsan.
I have no idea if Brad would want to come back to Blacksburg or if Seth would want him back. What I do know is I liked the way our team played a lot better when Brad was on staff. My opinion is it's not a complete coincidence that we haven't made the NCAA Tournament since Brad left town.

Brad Greenburg also had issues keeping other players in their program (2 had recently transferred in addition to several others in the past couple years). As far as him coming back to Blacksburg, Seth may want the smoke to clear before bringing him back.

Yeah tough stuff
I talked to Brad in his first year there when they scheduled my school (a D-III school) that ran the Grinnell System as a tune up for VMI. They barely won, and then scheduled us again this past year and won by only 3. As the color commentator for the first game, I really believe the only reason they were able to come back and win after trailing 3/4 of the game was because of size. They didn’t have better athletes. So maybe it was best for Brad to step away.
