Hokies in the NFL Week 3

The NFL season continues to be a weird one and that's pretty evident with Week 3. The Bills continue to 3-0 with a last second victory over the Patriots (no comment), the Lions are 3-0 and the Colts are 0-3. Of course the bigger news out of Indy was that Manning is likely out until 2012. The Jets went to Oakland and LOST to the Raiders. If we've learned anything from this young season, it's that we know nothing at all.

It was another interesting week for former Hokies in the NFL. Mike Vick left the game early with a broken...no, wait just bruised hand after a hit in the Eagles game against the Giants. Kam Chancellor had an eye-opening day for the Seahawks and a pair of Hokies had to miss action because of injuries.

Follow the jump to see how former Hokies did in Week 3 of the NFL season.

Star-divide

Xavier Adibi-LB, Minnesota Vikings: Inactive again.

James Anderson-LB, Carolina Panthers: Anderson led the Panthers in tackles with 8 solo, 9 total, 2 for a loss and defended a pass. Go look up highlights for this game. Water slide!

Roc Carmichael-CB, Houston Texans: Injured.

Kam Chancellor-S, Seattle Seahawks: Kam had an interception and three solo tackles with 5 total, 2 passes defended, and forced a fumble in the Seahawks' win over the Arizona Cardinals. Chancellor's interception ended a Arizona drive that had progressed to the Seattle 36 and essentially clinched the game for the Seahawks with only 1:05 left on the clock. Chancellor also delivered this CRUSHING hit on Todd Heap (who left the game injured):

Darren Evans-RB, Indianapolis Colts: Inactive.

Brandon Flowers-CB, Kansas City Chiefs: Flowers made good on his new contract by intercepting a Phillip Rivers pass and returning it 43 yards (not for a TD) and adding 6 solo tackles with 2 assists to his day. However, the Chiefs lost again and are 0-3. Here's video of the Flowers INT:

Cody Grimm-S, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cody had two solo tackles with a pass defended.

DeAngelo Hall-CB, Washington Redskins: DeAngelo had 6 solo tackles in the loss to the Cowboys on MNF, in what must have been a boring game.

Jeff King-TE, Arizona Cardinals: King didn't have a reception this week after two consecutive weeks with a touchdown but he did get a tackle. Cool.

Josh Morgan-WR, San Francisco 49ers: Morgan had two catches for 17 yards, with a long of 12.

Carlton Powell-DT, Atlanta Falcons: Had an assist on a tackle for loss.

Eddie Royal-WR, Denver Broncos: Sat out with an injury.

Darryl Tapp-DE, Philadelphia Eagles: Tapp sat out of Sunday's game with a torn pectoral muscle.

Tyrod Taylor-QB, Baltimore Ravens: Did not accumulate any stats.

Mike Vick-QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Vick was rattled last week with a concussion and he got injured yet again this week as he bruised his hand bracing his fall after a hit by Giants DE Chris Canty in the Eagles' 29-16 loss. Vick was 16/23 for 176 yards and 1 INT. He ran for 31 yards on 7 carries. He fumbled the ball 3 times, but did not lose any.

Ryan Williams-RB, Arizona Cardinals: Injured.

Jason Worilds-LB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Did not accumulate any stats.

GAME BALL: Easy, goes to Kam Chancellor for his first career INT. Congrats, big fella.

Is it strange that

I am REALLY not a Kam Chancellor fan. The guy was horrid for the majority of his last two years at tech. But I voted for him on all 3 polls now.

He was stuck playing out of position because we were deep at rover and had no one at free.

Still was against that move bigtime

I know that about him, but he was a FAR superior Rover.
