You guys were the better team and were def the best team in the nation that year. So I’m not upset that we lost to the best team in the nation. But we had you at the best possible time, the first game of the season. We were up for a while…and we couldn’t hold on and lost. But again, we had to temper that disappointment because Bama was the best team in the land.

I know how we’ll finally win it all next year. Every time the opposing team scores a touchdown, we’ll have the refs say it wasn’t! Replays are supposed to be completely conclusive. Hokies had THREE called completions overturned. Bullshit game.
We should have won that game by two scores....
We blew so many opportunities even though special teams sucked overall. That fake punt debacle was embarrassing but I guess the story was poor red zone execution that let them take the lead and extend the game until the ref could decide the game in ot.

Balls on The Turf
If the ball touches the turf and moves it is going to be incomplete 100% of the time. This is not a new rule. VT dominated on D, but you also have to execute in the Red Zone and on Special Teams. Was that the “Beamer Ball” I had heard so much about?

Heartbreaking loss for VT, but not unexpected.
Born and raised in the 804, VT '10. I am a citizen-soldier, HOOAH! Hokies, Braves, NY Giants, and NY Rangers are my teams.
Shame
VT manhandled Michigan all night and should have won that game by 14 points or more. Leading up to that game, all the media would say is how outmatched VT was and how it was a poor matchup for VT. It was going to be the Denard Robinson Show. Well, VT outclassed and outmuscled Michigan and if not for an amazing string of good fortune and questionable officiating, Michigan would not have even been in the game. Instead, Michigan miraculously gets the win and gets to call themselves BCS champions, despite being completely dominated. What a shame. The story should be that VT exposed the media for fools.
Watch that catch a couple times, you can clearly see the ball move 90 degrees once it touches the ground. VT dominated the game, but couldn’t get it done in the red zone, mostly because of great red zone defense by Michigan. Michigan forced the turnover on the kickoff, had an athletic interception on Thomas. VT badly faked a punt and couldn’t get a conversion on 4th down. If your OC would have gave up on the run and just passed all night long – Michigan would have been destroyed. You guys were getting 8 YPA on passes, Michigan couldn’t handle your big tall WRs. Michigan did make some miraculous plays, but Denard has been doing that all season. Michigan lives and dies with Denard, most have accepted that. If you want to blame anyone, blame your own coaches for ignoring what was working in the first half and making terrible decisions.
