As with last year, no offensive lineman are mentioned because it's just too hard to really tell how they performed. The Hokies in the NFL are below in alphabetical order:
James Anderson, LB Carolina Panthers- Anderson and the Panthers fell in overtime to the Buccaneers. Anderson totaled seven tackles with four of them as solo efforts. Anderson was flagged for unnecessary roughness for a tackle on Josh Freeman (Freeman was sliding and Anderson hit him).
7 TAK, 4 SOLO
Shayne Graham, K Houston Texans- Graham was 3 of 5 on the day, hitting field goals of 42, 27 and 25 yards, but missing kicks from 50 and 47 yards. Graham was also hit all four extra points on the day as the Texans beat the Jaguars in overtime.
3/5 (42, 27, 25, 50X, 47X), 4/4 XP
DeAngelo Hall, CB Washington Redskins- Hall's big play of the day was an interception of a Nick Foles pass (the third play of the game), which he returned 22 yards. The Redskins quickly cashed in on the interception with a touchdown. Hall also totaled seven tackles, six as solo efforts and including two as tackles for losses.
7 TAK, 6 SOLO, 2 TFL, INT, PD
Josh Morgan, WR Washington Redskins- Morgan pulled in three passes for 25 yards in the Redskins' romp of the Eagles.
3 REC, 25 YDS
Michael Vick, QB Philadelphia Eagles- Vick was sidelined from this game with a concussion and the Eagles did even worse. Maybe Nick Foles' performance will end some of the calls for him to start over Vick. Philadelphia, here's a clue to the problem: it rhymes with Candy Seed.
David Wilson, RB New York Giants- Wilson and the Giants had a bye week.
Player of the week: DeAngelo Hall for his performance against the Eagles.
