A nightmarish back nine left former Hokie Johnson Wagner out of contention at Augusta on Thursday. After shooting a one-over-par 37 on the front nine, Wagner bogied every hole between 11 and 14, followed by a double-bogey on the par-5 15th hole. He salvaged the round with three straight pars, but finished the day +7, 10 shots off the clubhouse lead held by Paul Lawrie and Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Hey, it could be worse...he could have been Henrik Stenson, who at one point was -6 and in commanding lead before a quadruple bogey on 18 left him just one-under for the day.
Wagner tees off Friday at 12:58 p.m.
