Virginia Tech Vs. Cincinnatti

The Virginia Tech Hokies look to stay in the win column this week and improve to 4-1 on the season against the Cincinnati Bearcats in their "neutral" site game at FedEx Field Saturday. The Bearcats, who are coming off their second bye week already this season, pounded Pitt in their first game who then subsequently beat the Hokies to a pulp one week later. The Hokies are hoping to complete the maddening triangle of sports that proves why games are not played on paper (ex. Team A beats Team B, Team B beats Team C and Team C beats Team A). For all you'll need to know about the matchup, its history and important statistics and interesting facts, simply jump right in to this game guide.

The Gobbler Country Manifesto

There are times in life when things happen that require serious devotion and deep introspection. As a sports fan and a writer, these things tend to happen to me quite often. But not since I began watching Virginia Tech football have I felt the urge to go into depth this much. To try to uncover all of the issues and provide logical, reasonable solutions for the fan who is taking it even harder than me. So don't jump off that ledge my fellow Hokie fan, or at least not before you read the Gobbler Country Manifesto.

2012 Virginia Tech Football: Cincinnati Game Thread

These two teams come into this game with completely different missions. Sure, both teams want to win the game, but there's more at stake than that. The Bearcats will be hoping to play themselves in to a BCS bowl game this season, and this win would help them make a case (although the Big East has never had an at-large play in a BCS Bowl), whereas the Hokies will be trying to avoid playing themselves out of an at-large bid should they fail to win the ACC. Join the discussion and give your take on the game, before, during and after below in the comments section.

2012 Virginia Tech Football: What To Watch Vs. Cincinnati

After defeating the Bowling Green Falcons 37-0 a week ago, the Hokies will take to the road (well, sorta) on a short trip to our nation's capitol to play the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bearcats are 2-0 (1-0), and beat Virginia Tech conquerer Pitt already this season by 24 points at home. The Hokies will be trying to avoid the same fate, and in the process, establish the maddening sports triangle.

For complete analysis of some of the most important factors, players and statistics in the matchup, continue reading below.

Q & A With Down The Drive

For this week's Q & A, we were able to talk with Cincinnati's official SB Nation blog, Down The Drive. Manager Matt Opper joins us in this week's Q & A session to discuss the game, our shared dislike of West Virginia (or maybe not so much) and make our predictions for this week's game. My part of the Q & A can also be found here. There's also plenty of pre-game coverage on their site that you won't want to miss. I'll link those articles in my Game Thread Saturday morning. So what are you waiting for? Don't hesitate like Sean Glennon, jump right in.
