The 6'9", 225-pound forward began his career at Kent State before deciding to transfer to Campbell. After sitting out in 2011-12, Leonard averaged 5.6 PPG for the Fighting Camels and didn't attempt any three pointers. That all changed this season when he put up 10.2 PPG largely due to to the added dimension of his outside shot.
Leonard shot 38% from outside and it wasn't a fluke. He made 35-of-92 threes and shot 50.4% from the field altogether. He also shot 71.7% at the free throw line.
He pulled down 4.9 RPG but he seems more comfortable as a shooter with great range than he does banging down low with the big bodies.
Still, he would clearly fit an imperative need for Tech and would give the Hokies the unusual ability to put two forwards with outside shooting range on the court at the same time when paired with C.J. Barksdale.
Leonard has already graduated so he will be eligible to play immediately in his final season of college basketball.
