It has been a dull summer for Buzz Williams and his recruiting staff, failing to land a couple of big men in the 2017 class. Now that basketball season is approaching, that is beginning to change. This morning, twins Kobe and Keyshaun Langley (2019 PGs) announced that their verbal commitment to Buzz Williams and the Hokies.

Both rated as 4-star recruits per 24/7, these are solid pickups for the future. We all know how Buzz loves his guards, and adding two point guards to the 2019 roster ensures that there will be depth at that position when Justin Robinson finishes his collegiate career. Blacksburg is used to having siblings on the football team, but having two brothers play basketball will be something foreign to Hokies’ fans. You rarely see it in the college game so this will be a unique opportunity for Kobe and Keyshaun.
Virginia Tech also finally picked up a big man - even though it is also for the 2019 class. BJ Mack (Charlotte Catholic) joined the Langley twins in his commitment this morning. He is rated as a 3-star prospect and #11 Center in the country per 24/7, standing at 6-7, 250 pounds.

Obviously, Mack has plenty of time to grow and fill out his frame, but you have to love the fact he’s already 250 pounds (heavier than Kerry Blackshear last season).
The Hokies could receive more good news on the recruiting front as one of their top targets Wabissa Bede visits Blacksburg this weekend. Stay tuned.
