I'd be OK with it. Can we add UConn and West Virginia, too?: "The person with knowledge of the talks declined to speculate on a timetable or the seriousness of the discussions. But in this delicate time for conferences and their futures, the discussions between the 12-team A.C.C. and two Big East members are significant." UPDATE: "Syracuse and Pittsburgh have begun the formal process of leaving the Big East by applying to join the Atlantic Coast Conference, an A.C.C. official with direct knowledge of the applications said Saturday."
From CNBC per College Football Talk, it looks like the home of the ACC champion has a new title sponsor. FedEx bailed when ESPN demanded more from advertisers as the new BCS network.
Read this. It goes over how college sports media deals have changed because of the BTN and the SEC's ESPN contract and goes over what the options are for the ACC. A warning, though. It contains, in the words of CGB "So. Many. Words."
Add this one to post-spring rankings from ESPN's Mark Schlabach, SI's Andy Staples and Tony Barnhart. CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd has Virginia Tech at No. 11. Notables: No. 2 Boise State, No. 13 Georgia Tech, No. 14 Miami, No. 16 Florida State and No. 24 North Carolina. HT: Annette.

The Solid Verbal, a tremendous college football site with a legit podcast, gives us its ACC preview featuring Jed Williams from ACCSports.com.
Virginia Tech was picked to win its fourth ACC title by 69 (heh, heh, 69) of the 87 media members who voted at this year's ACC Football Kickoff. Voters picked VT in the Coastal and FSU in the Atlantic. Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer was selected as the ACC's preseason player of the year. None of these results are very surprising.
Hinton kicked off ACC week Monday by tackling the notion it's a second-tier conference and calling the Hokies boring. With italics and everything. At some point in his post, Hinton will likely piss off fans of every ACC school except Duke and NC State, who aren't mentioned.
