Former Hokie great Angela Tincher has been hired by Maryland as its pitching coach. Tincher spent last year on the Syracuse staff.

Former Virginia Tech softball great Angela Tincher is now an assistant coach for Syracuse. Her Orange have qualified for their first-ever NCAA Tournament and will open play against Oklahoma at 5 p.m. EDT Friday in College Park, Md. According to the Syracuse website, Tincher "has the most NCAA experience on the Syracuse squad, having played in 17 tournament contests during her four-year career at Virginia Tech."
