With the news on June 28 that Dadi Nicolas (formerly Wedley Estime) was arrested for felony larceny as a principal in the second degree and subsequently suspended from the football team, I think...

Q&A With HokieFootball Annual Writer Chris Colston

This week Chris Colston was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to talk about his latest Virginia Tech undertaking, the HokieFooball Annual 2012. For those of you who don't know what...

Per pretty much every Virginia Tech beat writer on Twitter Nick Dew and Theron Norman are no longer with the football team and will presumably transfer. This was confirmed by a university...

Games We Wish We Had Back Pt. 3

As a fan in the wake of your team's loss, have you ever driven yourself to insanity with the 'what if's?' Well, this man has, and as a semi-cathartic experience, he is writing about it. Come share his insanity in Games We Wish We Had Back Pt. 3 on Gobbler Country.

2014 Hampton RB Marshawn Williams Commits To Hokies

The Virginia Tech Hokies scored their second commitment of the 2014 class today in Hampton Crabber RB Marshawn Williams. As you'll see in the highlight video I linked, Williams is not the most fleet of foot, but he is hard to bring down a la Darren Evans. Williams was said to have never considered anyone else and that playing for the Hokies was a dream.

Virginia Tech, ACC Marriage Will Soon Be Sour

Where does Virginia Tech fit in the future of college football? Hopefully not the ACC, for it's own sake.

Virginia Tech Kicker Cody Journell To Plead Guilty To Misdemeanor

Suspended Virginia Tech kicker Cody Journell has come to an agreement with the Commonwealth Attorney to plead guilty to a lesser charge than the felony breaking and entering he has been charged with. It appears he will plead guilty to a trespassing misdemeanor instead. The terms appear to involve no jail time or fine, but will require 100 hours of community service. Journell tweeted Friday night, "First good news I’ve heard in 6 months…I’m so determined to make a mike vick comeback, man I love #VT." His status with the football team is still up in the air, but as Andy Bitter said of the deal in his post, "potentially opening up the possibility for him to return to the Hokies." More on this story as it develops. Stay glued to Gobbler Country. UPDATE: According to our own Josh Parcell, Journell also posted to Facebook "…sounds like ill be back playing ball with my boys in less than a week, man I love VT for all their support." So it looks like he's coming back.
