The Hokies play their first NCAA baseball tournament game since 2000 Friday against The Citadel in Columbia, S.C. Tech is coming off a 2-1 performance at the ACC tournament and was rewarded with a No. 2 seed. Its opponent in the first round won both the regular season and tournament championships in the Southern Conference.
Starting Pitchers: Wright is 2-2, 3.77 in seven starts and Talley is 0-2, 5.70 in four starts against NCAA tournament teams ... eight of Wright's last 10 starts have been quality starts ... Talley has had quality starts in six of his last seven ... opponents are hitting .226 against Wright and .249 against Talley ... both pitched well in their conference tournaments ...
