EA Sports is Helping Us Get to Football Season

We've finally reached the summer doldrums of college football's offseason. Spring football is a distant memory, the NBA and NHL playoffs are over and the preview magazines and baseball seem to be the only things left to keep us occupied until August when preseason practices begin.

But there is one other thing that can keep our attention and help alleviate the boredom: The release of EA Sports' NCAA Football 11. And to celebrate the game's release on Tuesday, July 13, EA Sports is sponsoring a series of posts on several SB Nation communities, including Gobbler Country.

The purpose of these posts is to tell our stories and explain what we think it means to be a Hokie fan. It's a week-long celebration of us and our fandom.

Each day, I'll post my own thoughts on a different subject and ask you guys to share your views. I think it'll be a lot of fun and it all starts today. The full schedule is after the jump.

Today: How I Became A Hokie Fan

Tuesday: All-Time Favorite Virginia Tech Team

Wednesday: Our Tailgating Traditions

Thursday: All-Time Favorite Hokies

Friday: Most Memorable Moments

Monday: Expectations for the 2010 Season

Tuesday: Christmas in July

I want to hear your stories and opinions in the comments sections of these posts. I especially look forward to hearing where you guys tailgate and what you expect out of the Hokies this year. Get ready, it all starts today.
