Virginia Tech Hokies Receive Commitment from Basketball Recruit Dorian Finney-Smith

Virginia Tech basketball coach Seth Greenberg got some good news today as Dorian Finney-Smith, a highly-touted forward from Norcom High School in Portsmouth, Va., committed to the Hokies:

The versatile 6-foot-7 forward chose the Hokies over Old Dominion and Florida at a press conference at Norcom. He is expected to sign a letter-of-intent during the week-long early period, which begins Nov. 10.

Smith would be a part of Tech's 2011 recruiting class if he signs. He is listed as a five-star prospect by ESPN and has received four stars from both Rivals and Scout. ESPN ranks him as the No. 15 recruit in the nation.

Tech's 2011 basketball recruiting class now includes commitments from Finney-Smith, forward C.J. Barksdale and guards Robert Brown and Marquis Rankin.

Prior to Finney-Smith's commitment, the Hokies' recruiting class was ranked 20th in the country by Rivals, 24th by ESPN and was unranked by Scout.
