In addition to Tyrod Taylor and Beau Warren's appearances in the East-West Shrine Game, one more Hokie will be playing in a college all-star game this month. Cornerback Rashad Carmichael was one of 18 ACC players named to rosters for the Senior Bowl.

The Senior Bowl will be played at 4 p.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 29 in Mobile, Ala. It will be televised by NFL Network. Carmichael is the fifth Virginia Tech defensive back to be named to the prestigious all-star game since the Hokies joined the ACC. Vincent Fuller, Eric Green, Aaron Rouse and Macho Harris were also named to Senior Bowl rosters.

Carmichael had 40 tackles, four interceptions and seven pass break-ups this past season to give him 115 tackles, 10 interceptions and 16 break-ups for his career. He played the all-important boundary cornerback position for the Hokies for the better part of two seasons. It's the same position played by Harris, Brandon Flowers and DeAngelo Hall recently.

The Senior Bowl will give Carmichael the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of NFL scouts and general managers in both the game and the practices leading up to the game. In recent years, those practices have also been televised by NFL Network.
