Virginia Tech and head coach Kevin Dresser have a lot to be proud of after the Hokies finished second at the NWCA National Duals tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The No. 12 Hokies fell to No. 1 Cornell 25-10 in the finals, but went on an impressive run to get there. They knocked off No. 17 Central Michigan, No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Wisconsin to reach the finals. Jesse Dong was outstanding for Tech at 157 pounds, going 4-0 with two pins.
The loss to Cornell broke a string of seven consecutive dual wins for the Hokies and the win over Wisconsin avenged one of their two previous losses. They are now 11-3 this season and look strong going into ACC play.
This rise of Tech's program and the job Dresser has done is something Hokie fans should be proud of. If you get the chance, go out and support the Hokies, who will return to Cassell Coliseum Jan. 16 against Clarion.
