Springtime for Football and the ACC!

[Ed. Note: Vacation over.]

Duke and Army open spring practice day, signalling the start of college football's own spring training. The Blue Devils are looking to continue their slow, but noticeable improvement under David Cutcliffe. This spring they'll have the services of quarterback Sean Renfree, who missed last year's spring drills due to injury.

As a sophomore last year, Renfree led the Blue Devils to a 3-9 record, completing 58.5 percent of his passes at 6.3 yards per attempt with eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions in conference play. Renfree showed a lot of poise at times and should have a good junior campaign. However, Duke needs to improve on both the offensive and defensive lines if it wants to do better than 1-7 in ACC play.

While Virginia Tech doesn't start spring practice until March 30, Duke getting underway means we'll actually have some real, actual on-field (sort of) football news to get us through April when the true dead period begins. Full spring schedules for all of our Soon-to-be-Vanquished Foes is after the jump.

Via Kegs 'n Eggs, here are spring football dates for the whole conference:
