A lot has changed around here in the last year and I've come to the realization that I just can't do this by myself anymore. No offense to Casey, Mark and Chris, who continue to write good stuff, but I need more writers and more writers who can write two to three times per week and take some of the burden of running this blog off my shoulders.
To be honest, I think the quality of my own writing has slipped in the last year or so and a lot of it has to do with just not having nearly enough time to write. I have a great new job that keeps me busy enough that there's no time to blog from work and I added wife4heisman to the mix over the summer and the little time each week I get to spend with her is a lot more important than writing, as it should be.
A couple of months ago I had a friend tell me that I was a lot more fun to hang around back when I was single, hated my job and was extremely bitter. He said I was a lot more entertaining back then and I imagine the blog was a lot more entertaining back then, too. I guess being happy kills one's creativity.
This post doesn't mean I'm leaving the blog. There's still plenty of room for the catharsis this outlet provides. But in all honesty if I don't get someone else to help me out with posts I'm going to burn out quickly and I don't want that to happen.
So, if you have any interest in writing about the Hokies and would like to contribute to the front page of Gobbler Country, please email me at gobblercountry-at-gmail-dot-com. If you have any examples of stuff you've written elsewhere, that's a plus.
Cheers and Go Hokies!,
