A bit of a sad note this week as David Wilson has been placed on season-ending Injured Reserve by the Giants following a neck injury. Not only is Wilson's season over, but there's some speculation that he may not be able to continue his career if it's as bad as it appears.
James Anderson, LB Chicago Bears -- Anderson had six total tackles and five solo tackles, with one as a tackle for a loss on a running play. Not bad, Mr. Anderson. But the Bears lost to the Lions.
6 TAK, 5 SOLO, TFL
Nick Becton, OT San Diego Chargers -- Inactive against the Broncos
Jarrett Boykin, WR Green Bay Packers -- Boykin had a pretty solid outing for the Pack as Scott Tolzien (the third-string quarterback) had to come in in relief of Senecca Wallace. Boykin was targeted 13 times and pulled in eight receptions for a game-high 112 yards. Boykin battled a lot with former VT teammate Roc Carmichael, who saw a lot of playing time on Sunday. Boykin had receptions of 10, 36, 11, 13, 6, 7, 8 and 21 yards on the day. Boykin picked up a new set of downs on a third-down play on two separate occasions. One of his catches, I believe it was the 36-yarder, was pretty questionable but remained a catch.
8 REC, 112 YDS
Duane Brown, OG Houston Texans -- Couldn't find much as far as hard stats, but Houston QB Case Keenum was sacked three times on the night. One of the sacks of Keenum forced a fumble that was returned for a score, but it was the opposite side of the line as Brown.
Roc Carmichael, CB Philadelphia Eagles -- Carmichael earned a start for the Eagles and was credited with four solo tackles and one pass break up, though I think he was a factor on more plays than just five. Mr. Carmichael had a lot of quality screen time and may be playing his way up the Philadelphia depth chart, regardless of injuries.
4 TAK, 4 SOLO, PD
Kam Chancellor, S Seattle Seahawks -- Kam had five total tackles on the day with three of them as solo efforts as the Seahawks improved to 9-1.
5 TAK, 3 SOLO
Brandon Flowers, CB Kansas City Chiefs -- The Chiefs had the week off.
DeAngelo Hall, CB Washington Redskins -- Hall racked up a lot of tackles, which isn't necessarily a good thing for a defensive back. Mighty Fahvaag, I defer to you for his performance. Hall tallied 11 total tackles with seven as solo efforts in the Redskins' loss.
11 TAK, 7 SOLO
Jayron Hosley, CB New York Giants -- Hosley was inactive for the Giants.
Will Montgomery, G Washington Redskins -- Mighty Fahvaag, you're up.
Josh Morgan, WR Washington Redskins -- Morgan did not accumulate any stats. He was targeted once and muffed a punt (that he recovered) and that's about it.
Eddie Royal, WR San Diego Chargers -- Eddie had a decent game, pulling in two passes for 36 yards--including a 30 yard reception.
2 REC, 36 YDS
Andre Smith, TE Dallas Cowboys -- Inactive for Sunday night football against the Saints.
Tyrod Taylor, QB Baltimore Ravens -- HALLELUJAH! Tyrod got a stat in a meaningful game. The Ravens found a nice little play for Tyrod as he lined up just off the left side of the line of scrimmage and came around on an end around, catching a pitch from Joe Flacco and turning it up field for 18 yards. I like this play and I think it sets the Ravens up for the ability to run the play again with Tyrod throwing the ball.
1 RUSH, 18 YDS
Darryl Tapp, DE/LB Washington Redskins -- Tapp did not accumulate his normal solo tackle :(
Michael Vick, QB Philadelphia Eagles -- Did not play, sidelined with injury.
Ryan Williams, RB Arizona Cardinals -- Inactive!
David Wilson, RB New York Giants -- See the note at the beginning of the post, or see below.
Jason Worilds, LB Pittsburgh Steelers -- Worilds tallied a pair of tackles on the day as the Steelers picked up a win over the Bills.
