Sean Keselica (1B) got the Hokies started as he took the fifth pitch of his at bat from Jason Harris deep and over the fence for a solo home run. Following Keselica's homer, Chad Pinder (3B) walked on four pitches following and after a foul out by Tyler Horan (DH), Mark Zagunis (C) hammered another homer for the Hokies.
Brendon Hayden singled to open the second inning and advanced to third on a throwing error. Alex Perez (SS) to load the bases for Gary Schneider (CF), who plated Hayden with a sacrifice fly. Pinder singled to re-load the bases and Kyle Wernicki (RF) scored on a walk with Horan at the plate. Zagunis struck out with the bases loaded to end the inning, but Tech was already out to a 5-0 lead after two innings.
In the fifth inning, Andrew Rash scored the final run for the Hokies after earning a walk and eventually scoring on a wild pitch. Michael Green scored the lone run for Charlotte on a throwing error that would have ended the inning.
Tanner McIntyre (2-0) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing just two hits and walking three for the win. Harris allowed five runs on four hits and three walks in the loss.

Tech got on the board first with a pair of runs in the second inning, fueled by three walks, a hit batsman and a fielding error. Mark Zagunis (LF/C) scored on a bases loaded walk to Alex Perez (SS) and Brendon Hayden (2B) scored on a fielding error.
Eddie Campbell came in to pitch for Sean Keselica in the seventh inning and surrendered three straight singles to load the bases. Chris Schaedel scored on a sac fly to left field and Ryan Kinsella hit a three run homer to give Elon a 4-2 lead.
The Hokies got one back in the eighth as Chad Pinder (3B) scored on a throwing error. Keselica flew out to center field with Gary Schneider (RF) on first base to end the game.
Keselica had pitched six scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing six hits and one walk. Campbell gave up four runs on four hits and a walk in one inning of work.
Brandon Kacer earned the win with 1/3 inning pitched, and as a whole, Elon held the Hokies to just four hits on the day.
