Virginia Tech To Face Michigan With Home-And-Home Series In 2020, 2021

IT WAS A CATCH!
IT WAS A CATCH!

Minutes ago, it was announced that Virginia Tech and Michigan would be meeting up in a home-and-home series in 2020-2021, with the Hokies traveling to Ann Arbor first on Sept. 19, 2020 and the Wolverines visiting Blacksburg the following year on Sept. 11, 2021.

The games between the two teams will be the first chance for the Hokies to avenge a controversial overtime loss in the 2012 Sugar Bowl to the Wolverines by the score of 23-20.

The addition of Michigan to the regular season schedule highlights several home-and-home series that the Hokies have added to their schedule, beginning with Ohio State in 2014-15 and Wisconsin in 2016-17. The Hokies are officially 1-1 all-time against Big Ten teams in football, playing both in postseason play, beating Indiana 45-20 for the school's first bowl win in 1993 and the aforementioned loss to Michigan.

Hokiesports' future schedules section has not yet reflected the change, but this will be the link to visit once the game has been put up.
