Virginia Tech Football: A Look At This Week's Depth Chart

New, 2 comments

The offensive line has been shuffled and injury questions abound heading into Tech's battle with Miami.

The biggest news about Tech's depth chart for this week is that leading rusher Marshawn Williams is back atop the tailback spot. Williams missed the Pittsburgh game after spraining his ankle in the win over North Carolina. It's unclear how much he'll play if he gives it a go.

Joel Caleb and J.C. Coleman remain the other prominent options in the backfield. Fullback Sam Rogers may once again get some carries after he started at tailback last week.

Chase Williams injured his knee against Pittsburgh and is doubtful against Miami. That would press redshirt freshman Andrew Motuapuaka into starting duty. He finished with three tackles in extended playing time against Pitt.

After taking a leave of absence from the team to address personal issues, Joshua Stanford is currently listed as the number two option at split end behind Isaiah Ford. Stanford has five catches for 35 yards in three games this season.

The offensive line will have a new look for Tech as O-line coach Stacy Searels has made some changes.

Redshirt freshman Wyatt Teller will get the start at left guard with David Wang moving to center. Caleb Farris who was starting at left guard will now backup Augie Conte at right guard.
