Do you love Virginia Tech sports? Do you have a keen understanding for what's news? Do you love writing or storytelling? Do you want to help build the best damn Virginia Tech sports community on the internet, and really make it your own? If so, we want to talk to you.

Gobbler Country is looking for talented, enthusiastic writers with a passion for Virginia Tech sports. Our ideal candidate will commit to writing 3-5 times per week for the site as well as be involved in programming an editorial schedule that fits everyones strengths. Here at GC we encourage spontaneity and new ideas from our writers, so if you fit these criteria, please apply.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has strong knowledge about Virginia Tech, both current and historical.
• Possesses strong writing skills.
• Has a nose for news, both in knowing what is important and identifying where to find it.
• Is able to write in line with our best practices for growing an audience.
• Is able to write and publish quickly while remaining accurate.
• Is a self-starter who can work with minimal direction.
• Possesses solid communication skills.
• Is comfortable working in a virtual environment.
