Virginia Tech is working hard to finish up the 2015 recruiting class and get the 2016 class rolling. On Saturday VT received commitments from 3* DE Houshun Gaines (2015) and 3* DB Myles Wolfolk (2016), which is a step in that direction.
Houshun Gaines publicly announced that he had given VT a commitment back in November while playing this weekend in the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas where he was a named a captain for the North Carolina squad. Gaines is a 6-4, 220 lb defensive end from Rocky Mount, NC (Nash Central High School) who the Hokies have liked for a long time. Charley Wiles was his primary recruiter and did a great job of keeping VT on Houshun's mind over the past few months.

Myles Wolfolk is a 6-1, 185 lb cornerback prospect from Upper Marlboro, Md (Dr. Henry Wise) who committed to VT and coach Torrian Gray this weekend. Myles is a versatile player with tremendous upside as he already has a college frame and speed. He currently holds offers from several ACC schools including Clemson and Boston College, but we expect his recruitment for really heat up over the Spring and into the Summer. Torrian Gray has done an excellent job getting defensive back prospects to commit early, but will have to work hard to keep this young talent.

On another note, VT lost the commitment of Damien Dozier this weekend as he did not qualify to enroll early at VT and has instead decided to enroll at Marshall University, which was not a surprise for the Hokies coaching staff.
Stay tuned to GC as we are following several other recruits that may be looking to announce soon for both 2015 and 2016.
Go Hokies!
