Coach Charley Wiles, Mayor Of Del Ray Beach Secures Late Commitment Out Of South Florida

Coach Wiles is the definition of connected. Having brought David Clowney, Brandon Flowers, and Mark Leal out of Atlantic High School, and then Luther Maddy and Dadi Nicolas out of neighboring Village Academy, Wiles has constructed a pipeline from South Florida to Blacksburg, Virginia. His latest addition is a rapidly rising, extremely talented Defensive End by the name of Kevin Bronson.

Some breaking news out of Florida (per Norm Wood of the Daily Press) is that weak-side Defensive End Kevin Bronson has verbally committed to Virginia Tech beginning with the 2014 season. He is 6'4, 233lb (Bronson himself says he is now as 255) and an absolute pass-rushing terror. I have mixed reports as to whether he moved up from three star to four star with the 24/7 re-rankings that occurred in December. Either way if he's a three star in Florida, that makes him four star caliber in more talent starved states.

Word was that after his visit to Blacksburg last weekend, Bronson wanted to take one last look around and had a trip scheduled to Vanderbilt earlier this week. Guess that turned out well for us. I never would have considered Vanderbilt's football program to be a threat since James Franklin departed for Penn State.

VT beat out chief competition South Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt for his services.

Here is a little video of Mr. Bronson. An interview from when he took home the Florida NUC 5 star showcase MVP award for all DL. Bronson says his first step is his bread and butter.

And here is a slightly longer video of him dominating games....as always with these videos there is loud music overlay, so take care with the volume if you are in the office:

We'll be back with more recruiting updates as they occur. Thanks for following along with us here at Gobbler Country, and on Twitter @gobblercountry.
