So here we are again, listed among the early offers for a premier talent. Shy Tuttle of North Davidson High School (Lexington, NC) is the 4th best player at his position per 247 Sports, and 15th overall. So he's a five-star who has next-level aspirations. He's 6'3, 315 lbs.
Per this excellent writeup by SBN's Bud Elliott on Tuttle, it appears he fields offers from all of our regular competitors:
Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee, Texas, Miami, Florida State and Virginia Tech. North Carolina -- the flagship program in his home state -- is also in this group.
Looking through his 247 timeline it appears that UNC is the favorite right now as he's attended more of their camps than anyone else. Clemson appears to be in second place. We don't have an official visit with him scheduled on the books yet, and would love to obviously get him to Blacksburg for a game this fall.
Being that Luther Maddy graduates, and most of what's coming behind is unproven, VT could easily sell the early playing time to an already fully-physically developed young man who has speed to match the power, as well as some well defined techniques as stated in the article:
His size demands a double team, but he is able to stack, shed and split quite well, and he also gets rid of blockers with a violent hand chop and side-step maneuver as well, which I did not expect to see.
Just look at the ground he covers:

Tuttle donning the #90 jersey for VT would be one of the next level steps the program could make. If you want to follow Tuttle on Twitter to see which way the wind is blowing, his Twitter handle is @KingTut_90
