Following a not-so-long off-season that was filled with workouts and efforts to impress NBA teams into giving him a shot at their roster, former Hokie Jarell Eddie has signed to play for the Wizards NBA Summer League team. Eddie was not selected in Thursdays NBA Draft, but he will be given an excellent shot to go up against great competition in front of many NBA coaches and scouts. Eddie continues to take positive steps towards playing in the NBA, as he will now go up against future NBA stars and many players that are also looking to fulfill their NBA dreams.
Washington Wizards will add Jarell Eddie (Virginia Tech) to their Summer League roster, league sources confirm.

The Wizards will be playing in the Samsung NBA Summer League which takes place July 11 through July 21 in Las Vegas. Washington must have liked what they saw from Eddie's pre-draft workout with them on June 11, as they quickly signed him following the conclusion of the draft. Eddie also took part in workouts with the Kings and Hornets prior to the draft.
The Summer League will be a good indicator of Eddie's ability to play at a pro level of competition (although not the highest level just yet), and strong play can really help his chances of making a teams regular season roster.
