Though yesterday afternoon didn't go as planned for Virginia Tech fans, Hokie football got a little bit better today when the program got some good news.
After naming Virginia Tech his leader after visiting in late July, Winter Haven, FL product Mike Arnold gave his verbal commitment to Frank Beamer and company on Sunday. The commitment was first reported by 247Sports' Evan G. Watkins.
Mike Arnold is a big kid, checking in at 6'5, 280 pounds. Arnold, a three-star, currently grades out as the 123rd best offensive tackle in the 2015 recruiting class, the 162nd best overall player from the talent rich state of Florida, and the 1136th ranked player from 2015, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Arnold took to social media shortly after giving his pledge to celebrate his decision:
