Hokies starting defensive tackle Luther Maddy will be out out 2-4 weeks after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Maddy injured his knee against East Carolina, but still fought through it and got on the field for 48 plays against Georgia Tech:

Through four games, Maddy has nine tackles and seven quarterback hurries. During the preseason, Maddy was named to several national awards watch lists. He's on the Bednarik, Nagurski, Outland (top interior lineman) and Lombardi (top lineman or linebacker) preseason watch lists.

Also on Tech's injury list, linebacker Dahman McKinnon will have the meniscus in his left knee repaired and will also be out 2-4 weeks. McKinnon recorded a special teams tackle at Ohio State and had been the backup at inside linebacker to Deon Clarke. He's been replaced by Ronny Vandyke.

Additionally, freshman offensive lineman Colt Petit will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder.
