Virginia Tech picked up a commitment Tuesday evening from offensive lineman Fredrick Johnson out of Royal Palm Beach High School in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Fredrick Johnson is a huge pick up for the Hokies at a position of need. Offensive line coach Stacy Searels moved in very quickly and was able to get Fredrick to campus this past weekend for an official visit. He is currently listed as 3* recruit by 247Sports and is listed at 6ft 8" and 285lbs. His size fits the athletic mold that Coach Searels is looking for in versatile offensive linemen.
Johnson is projected to be a tackle at the college level and joins Mike Arnold and Tyrell Smith as the current offensive-line commits for the 2015 recruiting class.
