Virginia Tech Safety Detrick Bonner Named Captain

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Virginia Tech Safety Detrick Bonner has officially been named as a captain for Saturday's East-West Shrine game.

Bonner is the only player representing Virginia Tech in today's shrine game. He is currently projected as a 7th round pick in this year's NFL Draft according to nfldraftscout.com

Detrick looks to improve that projection by draft day and he is off to a great start, being named captain.

During his collegiate career Bonner started 30 games and racked up 203 total tackles (129 solo), 5 sacks, 5 interceptions, and 1 touchdown for the Hokies.

The East-West Shrine game will air at 4PM EST on NFL Network
