An Early Look At 2016 Quarterback Commitment Logan Byrd

Last September 13, 2014, Virginia Tech received an early commitment from 2016 quarterback Logan Byrd.

Logan, (6-3, 230) is a strong-armed quarterback out of Kathleen, Georgia, where he currently plays for Veterans High School. In 2013, he finished with 1,378 yards passing and ran for another 280 while accounting for 15 touchdowns.

He had scholarship offers from ACC rivals Duke, North Carolina, NC State, and Virginia, among others but chose to commit to Virginia Tech for the opportunity learn under the tutelage of head coach Frank Beamer and offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler. When he chose Virginia Tech, he released a personal statement about his decision on his own website.

The future Blacksburg resident is highly regarded by various scouting services. He is currently ranked 21st overall quarterback in the nation according to 247Sports and three-star recruit by Scout.
