Here's an update from the high school performances for Virginia Tech recruits for the week of October 2nd, 2015. It's a bit of a short one. The terrible weather across the southeast played havoc with the game schedule, so a lot of games were moved or cancelled (especially in the 757), including that of Jovonn Quillen, Eric Kumah (Monday), Samuel Denmark (Monday), Phillip Patterson (Monday), Thomas Jarrett Hopple (October 13th at Indian River), Tavante Beckett (Yes, this Indian River, so rescheduled), Patrick Kearns (Monday), and Myles Wolfolk (Monday). Jimmie Taylor and Clay Dean were on Bye Weeks. Sorry, gentlemen and ladies, but next week is going to be a doozy. The following are the games that WERE played.
Victor Greene (Spotsylvania, VA. 215lbs, 6'-0", Outside Linebacker)
Victor Greene and his Courtland counterparts beat the pants off the Liberty Eagles, 54-20. Thanks to rain concerns, the game was on a Thursday. They're now 4-1 on the season. Victor Greene ran for 10 carries, 151 yards, and two scores...yet more evidence that he's a running back and not a linebacker. Due to his speed and size I'd have a tendency to make him a scatback type, though some of his highlights show his strength.
Reggie Floyd (Manassas, VA. 205lbs, 6'-0", Athlete)
Sorry, no video.
Stonewall Jackson is still sadly completely defeated, losing 28-7 to Massaponax High School. Floyd was fairly stymied on the day offensively- he went for 21 attempts but only 69 yards and a TD, and 25 of those came on the one touchdown run. He also caught a pass for 15 yards.
Joshua Jackson (Saline, MI. 200lbs, 6'-2", Dual-threat Quarterback)
Sorry, no video
Joshua Jackson's march through his SEC continues on, as they fought their way over Ann Arbor Pioneer, 37-21. They're now 6-0 on the season. Jackson was 15-20 for 144 yards and 1TD, along with 15 carries for 69 yards and 2TDs. He's definitely a winner and definitely a dual threat, but his passing chops are advanced for a young quarterback, which is always nice to see.
Divine Deablo (Winston-Salem, NC. 180lbs, 6'-3", Wide Receiver)
Sorry, no video.
Mount Tabor lost to North Davidson, 42-27. This leaves them at 3-4 on the year. I could not find stats available, but Deablo didn't record a touchdown.
Troy Pride, Jr. (Greer, SC. 165lbs, 6'-0", Cornerback)
The Greer Yellow Jackets obliterated Eastside, 48-7. Troy Pride returned two punts for touchdowns, one of 28 yards and another of 77 yards.
Emmanuel Belmar (Suwanee, GA. 220lbs, 6'-2", Outside Linebacker)
Collins Hill beat Mountain View High 24-7. Belmar recorded a sack on a key third down, forcing a field goal attempt that was blocked.
