Full Circle: Hokies to the 2015 Camping World Independence Bowl

Virginia Tech will travel to Shreveport and close out the Frank Beamer era at the Independence Bowl.

James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

In the winter of 1993 Frank Beamer began the longest, currently-active bowl game streak in the FBS.  After earning an 8-3 record the Virginia Tech Hokies accepted a bowl invitation to face the 8-3 Indiana Hooiers. It seems fitting that the first bowl game that Frank Beamer ever led the Hokies to would also be his last.  Back in '93 Independence Bowl the Hokies dominated the Hoosiers, defeating Indiana, 45-20.

This year the Hokies will face the high powered offense of the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.  Tulsa finished the season 6-6.
