Virginia Tech pulled off a tough come-from-behind victory to beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 65-63. Malik Muller was outstanding for the Hokies Monday night as he provided 17 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. His 3 pointer with 18 seconds left in the game was enough for the Hokies to get their second ACC victory of the season.

On the evening Virginia Tech was able to outshoot the Yellow Jackets behind a solid FG percentage of 52.1% compared to GT's 37.7 %. However, the reason why the Hokies trailed for most of the second half was GT's size and hustle. The Yellow Jackets out rebounded the Hokies 39-27, which provided them with many second chance (and easy) opportunities to score.
GT was led by Maryland transfer Charles Mitchell who boasted a solid 17 points and 8 rebound performance despite only playing 22 minutes. Three other Yellow Jackets scored in double figures, but overall the Hokies did a nice job on the defensive end despite the huge size mismatch.

This VT team is beginning to look like a Buzz Williams basketball team (some might say they have all season) because they not only play hard, but it seems like a different guy is able to step up on a given night. Monday night it was Muller and Smith, but also Shane Henry who hasn't played his best ball lately. Henry added 10 points while going a perfect 4-4 from the field and had a huge presence on the defensive end guarding much larger interior players.
